Holiday Eats: St. Paddy’s Day

Mar 17, 2021

Happy St. Paddy’s Day! The CHEF iQ team put together the ultimate St. Patrick’s Day feast, filled with corned beef and all the fixings. This Irish-inspired App release has everything from Shepherd’s Pie to a spiked Irish Coffee with Baileys-infused whipped cream. You’ll definitely hit the jackpot with this delicious lineup!

Shepherd’s Pie

Shepherd’s Pie is a quintessential European dish, traditionally made with lamb or mutton. In the United States, beef is a popular add-in due to its fat and flavor. Our CHEF iQ  spin-off contains half beef and half lamb. We wanted to honor traditional recipes while still delivering what beef brings to the table!

Corned Beef Hash

If you made corned beef in honor of St. Patrick’s Day and have leftovers, then you have to try out this hash. Packed full of potatoes, bell peppers, onions, and even topped with a fried egg, this hearty hash will give your breakfast biscuit a run for its money.

Bangers and Mash

This classic British pub grub may have a funny name, but it’s some serious comfort food. You can use whatever sausage variety you please, whether that be beef or classic pork. If you’re feeling the need for something green on the plate, peas are a staple.

Irish Coffee With Baileys Whipped Cream

Real-deal Irish coffee, sweetened with brown sugar and spiked with Irish whiskey, is a St. Paddy’s Day go-to. Making it in the Smart Cooker allows you to flavor the beverage as it “brews.” Topped with whipped cream infused with Baileys, it’s an after-dinner indulgence you’ll crave well beyond St. Patrick’s Day.

Irish Soda Bread

Soda bread is traditionally made with baking soda as the leavening agent instead of yeast, giving it its trademark name. The baking soda activates when it comes into contact with an acid, so that’s why buttermilk is included. An advantage of fast-baking bread is that it can be prepared quickly and reliably without the work that traditional yeasted breads require.

May your St. Paddy’s Day celebration be filled with lots of luck, and, of course, great food!
