Happy Hour: Summer Sangria

Happy Hour: Summer Sangria

For this sangria recipe, we wanted to make something on the crisper, less-sweet side. The Summer Sangria features crisp apples, fresh berries, peach liqueur, and your white wine of choice. This fruity cocktail packs a punch and is perfect for your next party!

Summer Sangria
Makes 6 Cocktails

Ingredients:

  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar, preferably raw cane sugar
  • 1/2 cup peach liqueur
  • 1 nectarine, sliced
  • 1 peach, sliced
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, sliced
  • 8 oz strawberries, sliced (about 1 heaping cup)
  • 1 750-ml bottle dry, crisp white wine, preferably Spanish or Portuguese (or use any sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio)
  • Frozen berries and/or ice cubes, for serving
  • Sparkling water, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Add lemon slices, lime slices, and sugar to a large pitcher and muddle (gently crush) with a wooden spoon for about 45 seconds.
  2. Add peach liqueur and muddle again for about 30 seconds. Add the nectarine, peach, apple, and strawberries and stir to combine.
  3. Add wine and stir.
  4. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. You can serve as soon as it’s chilled, but for best flavor, allow the fruit to soak for at least 4 hours up to 48 hours.
  5. Serve the sangria over the frozen berries/and or ice cubes.
  6. If you’d like to dilute the drink a little, top off each glass with a little sparkling water.
