Summer Sangria
Makes 6 Cocktails
Ingredients:
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 lime, sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar, preferably raw cane sugar
- 1/2 cup peach liqueur
- 1 nectarine, sliced
- 1 peach, sliced
- 1 Granny Smith apple, sliced
- 8 oz strawberries, sliced (about 1 heaping cup)
- 1 750-ml bottle dry, crisp white wine, preferably Spanish or Portuguese (or use any sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio)
- Frozen berries and/or ice cubes, for serving
- Sparkling water, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
- Add lemon slices, lime slices, and sugar to a large pitcher and muddle (gently crush) with a wooden spoon for about 45 seconds.
- Add peach liqueur and muddle again for about 30 seconds. Add the nectarine, peach, apple, and strawberries and stir to combine.
- Add wine and stir.
- Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. You can serve as soon as it’s chilled, but for best flavor, allow the fruit to soak for at least 4 hours up to 48 hours.
- Serve the sangria over the frozen berries/and or ice cubes.
- If you’d like to dilute the drink a little, top off each glass with a little sparkling water.
